Position and scope
Malaysia / মালয়েশিয়া; ISO MY; Southeast Asia; capital Kuala Lumpur. Authority: Immigration Department of Malaysia; application portal MYVISA. Actual destinations in ST010, ST011, ST012 and ST013. Ordinary tourism/social visit only.
Visa category and eligibility
Select the relevant social-visit Visa Without Reference category rather than worker/student approval. The portal permits applications from abroad, excluding Malaysia, Israel and North Korea. Its 6 October 2026 terms distinguish single and multiple entry and individual assessment. This is advance eVisa, not a general visa-on-arrival entitlement for Bangladesh tourists. [MY02]
Entry conditions and supporting evidence
The current portal specifies a passport valid at least six months and carrying the valid eVisa, ticket/arrival details, return ticket where applicable, paid accommodation evidence and relevant financial/residence support. Use the live applicant checklist for image specifications and further papers. Children under 18 must upload a birth certificate. MDAC’s form allows travel within three days including submission day; complete it for the ordinary short visit and recheck exemptions if holding Malaysian residence or another special document. [MY02–MY03]
Document checklist
- Official portal requirement: Passport bio-page and valid passport, photo and completed online data meeting live specifications. [MY02]
- Official travel evidence: Clear ticket/onward details and paid accommodation proof; carry financial/residence evidence relevant to the application. [MY02]
- Conditional mandatory: Birth certificate for an applicant under 18; current-country residence permission where applicable. [MY02]
- Separate arrival declaration: MDAC submitted in the official three-day window; visa approval remains separate. [MY03]
- Additional if requested: Further financial, employment or interview evidence. No universal Bangladesh bank-balance minimum or routine biometrics asserted.
Application procedure
- Open MYVISA from the Immigration Department link, register and select the correct social-visit category and entries.
- Upload readable passport, photograph and itinerary/accommodation evidence; check every date and identity field.
- Review the itemised fee, pay and monitor the account/email for requests, interview or the decision; meet each response deadline.
- Download the approved eVisa, check all conditions and submit MDAC in its window; carry entry evidence to the border.
Official fees and processing
The Immigration nationality tariff lists Bangladesh at RM 20 for single/multiple-entry visa and RM 20 for transit visa. This is not the total eVisa checkout price: processing/convenience and payment or agency charges may be additional. Current MYVISA terms say all payments are non-refundable and publish two to seven working days after payment and complete submission, excluding holidays, queries, interviews and disruptions. A requested-document resubmission restarts that period. Apply at least fourteen days ahead as the terms require. [MY02, MY04]
Validity stay and entry limits
The current portal gives an ordinary eVisa Single Entry Visa a six-month window for its one journey; certain other categories have three months. That entry window does not permit six months of residence. The portal describes thirty days per social-visit entry, subject to the actual grant and passport validity. Read the issued visa and immigration endorsement; multiple entry is a separate product, not an automatic right. An approved new eVisa cancels an existing active visa under the portal terms. [MY02]
Transit and multi-country travel
Do not sell Malaysia’s actual holiday stages as transit. A general Bangladesh entitlement to a 120-hour transit-without-visa concession was not verified. Check the booked airport, terminals, baggage and ticket structure with the carrier. Immigration for bag collection, a landside hotel or onward land travel requires appropriate entry permission. A Malaysia–Singapore–Malaysia route needs enough Malaysian entries plus separate Singapore permission; Thailand also needs its own approval in ST012/ST013.
Documentation errors and refusal risks
General risks include unreadable uploads, mismatched identity, an unsuitable visa category and missing a portal request. The terms warn that failure to provide requested papers or confirm an interview beyond five days may cause automatic rejection. A receipt is not approval, and approval does not guarantee border admission.
Practical preparation
Reach MYVISA through the Immigration Department’s link and inspect the full hostname before paying. Keep a readable digital or printed approval, paid accommodation evidence and actual onward route. Do not assume every route needs a return flight to Dhaka if a lawful, evidenced onward journey is planned; follow the live checklist for that route.
Verification limits
Limit: Issued visa controls the individual case; checkout total was not retrieved.
Limit: Infographic-only exemption notice could not be visually retrieved; reconfirm special-document exclusions.
Limit: Timed out; indexed historical wording is not treated as a verified current rule.
READY FOR REVIEW. Core eVisa rules and the MDAC submission window were directly read. Still confirm the exact live checkout total, current MDAC exemption notice, any interview/additional papers and the booked route’s transit position. The Dhaka mission page timed out; its older indexed three-month visa statement was not used to override the newer portal’s six-month ordinary SEV terms.
Rules may change. Reconfirm with the official authority and airline before applying and departure. A visa does not guarantee boarding or border admission.
