Position and scope

Visa category and eligibility
Choose either a suitable pre-travel embassy eTA process or the confirmed on-arrival tourist route. The Dhaka Embassy has replaced stickers/handwritten visas with eTA issuance for its applicants. A submitted web form alone is not the approval. Use the Embassy’s own Nepaliport link and follow the route-specific instructions; do not confuse embassy eTA fees in taka with a separate arrival-counter USD tariff. [NP01–NP02]
Entry conditions and supporting evidence
The embassy route specifies photograph and passport uploads, application copy, NID or birth certificate, two-way flight booking and hotel booking. Employee and student evidence is conditional on occupation. Further evidence may be requested. Those embassy submission requirements are not automatically a universal arrival-counter checklist. The exact remaining passport-validity and blank-page threshold should be confirmed for the chosen route; this review did not retrieve an accessible Department page establishing it.
Document checklist
- Official embassy: Passport and recent photograph uploads; copies of application and passport. [NP01]
- Official embassy: NID or birth certificate, two-way flight booking and hotel booking. These labels apply to the embassy process.
- Conditional: Private employee recommendation/NOC; student ID or institution recommendation; authorised group documents where applicable.
- Route recheck: For arrival, keep passport, return/onward evidence and accommodation details ready; confirm the counter’s current complete checklist.
Application procedure
- For an embassy eTA, enter the online mission application through the Dhaka Embassy Visa page and upload the required files.
- Submit the embassy-required copies and occupation-specific evidence, follow its current receiving instructions and pay only the applicable official fee.
- Retain the reference and issued eTA; verify the delivery/collection instructions directly. An interview or additional evidence may be requested.
- For on-arrival travel, use the official arrival link provided by the Embassy, reconfirm the designated port and carry the required arrival evidence and payment if due.
Official fees and processing
Dhaka publishes the first SAARC tourist visa in a calendar visa year as gratis, with subsequent embassy eTAs priced at BDT 3,630 for 15 days, BDT 6,050 for 30 days and BDT 15,125 for 90 days, effective 1 April 2026. Confirm the free-stay period and eligibility before assuming that a 90-day application is gratis. Its stated processing time is two working days; this is not a boarding guarantee. The latest arrival-counter fee, gratis duration and payment method must be reconfirmed; the underlying Department page could not be inspected.
Validity stay and entry limits
The embassy publishes 15-, 30- and 90-day multiple-entry tourist eTA options. The period allowed to stay is not the same as a submission receipt or the deadline for using an approval. Read the issued eTA and immigration endorsement for actual dates, entry count and remaining stay. Extension conditions and maximum annual stay were not directly verified here; consult Immigration before expiry.
Transit and multi-country travel
ST008 enters Nepal and travels between Kathmandu and Pokhara; it is not an airside transit product. A transit connection through another country needs that country’s separate check. The Department’s search record describes a 24-hour Nepal transit category, but its direct page failed; do not use that category for the package holiday or assume airside/landside eligibility without checking the exact connection.
Documentation errors and refusal risks
Avoid treating SAARC fee relief as no-visa travel, using an incomplete eTA as approval or giving inconsistent hotel/flight dates. These are documentation risks, not claimed Nepal refusal statistics. Refugee or emergency travel documents are outside this ordinary-passport chapter.
Practical preparation
Keep the chosen entry route, return flight and accommodation consistent. Save the official approval or form reference and travel copies. Ask the airline which arrival documentation it requires to board and verify the current fee/gratis treatment before departure. A paid intermediary is not automatically needed for the embassy’s official online route.
Verification limits
Limit: The portal requires JavaScript; the form itself was not submitted or fully inspected.
Limit: Underlying page repeatedly failed to open; its numeric arrival and transit claims remain unverified, not final authority.
Further confirmation: arrival-counter fee and gratis duration from an accessible Department source; remaining passport validity/blank pages; extension and annual-stay rules; any specific transit case. Embassy eTA and Bangladesh arrival eligibility were directly verified; these separate points remain open.
Rules may change. Reconfirm with the official authority and airline before applying and departure. A visa does not guarantee boarding or border admission.
