Thailand visa requirements for Bangladeshi travellers.
Ordinary Bangladesh passports are absent from the Thai embassy’s updated tourist-exemption and visa-on-arrival lists effective 15 September 2026. Plan an approved Tourist Visa (TR) before travel. The separate, free Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) is not a visa. Local Dhaka eVisa payment/checklist details still need confirmation. [TH01–TH04]
Facts checked on
Position and scope
Thailand / থাইল্যান্ড; ISO TH; Southeast Asia; capital Bangkok. Authorities: Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Royal Thai Embassy Dhaka and Immigration Bureau. Tourism stages ST009, ST012 and ST013.
Visa category and eligibility
The new exemption/VOA framework took effect on 15 September 2026; do not reuse an old sixty-day visa-exempt list. That revision did not itself abolish the TR visa category. The official Thai eVisa address is thaievisa.go.th. Dhaka publishes eVisa-payment guidance, but the detailed announcement is an image that could not be inspected. Confirm jurisdiction, the live checklist and payment method with the mission/portal before submission. [TH01, TH04–TH06]
Entry conditions and supporting evidence
The central TR page specifies a passport valid at least six months, onward/return travel evidence and available means equivalent to THB 20,000 per person or THB 40,000 per family. This is a travel-means condition, not proof that every applicant must show one fixed six-month bank balance. Tour-operator evidence applies when travelling with a tour company; additional documents or interview can be requested. Use current eVisa photo/upload specifications rather than automatically copying the older paper-photo quantity. [TH02]
Document checklist
- Official central TR requirement: Passport with at least six months validity, application and photograph; current electronic format/blank-page rule needs local confirmation. [TH02]
- Official central travel evidence: Proof of onward/return travel and the stated means of support. [TH02]
- Conditional: Tour-company documentation if joining a tour; extra financial/employment/relationship papers or interview if requested.
- Official separate declaration: TDAC with passport, travel, accommodation, email and applicable health information for entry. [TH03]
- Not yet locally verified: Exact Dhaka bank-history threshold, NID/translation requirement, upload specifications, routine biometrics and payment method.
Application procedure
- Open the official eVisa portal, select Bangladesh residence and tourism, and confirm the responsible mission and current checklist.
- Prepare matching identity and travel evidence; follow the live upload and payment instructions, not an old agency checklist.
- Retain the reference and check account/email for additional documents, interview or decision. Await actual approval and verify visa dates and entries.
- Before entry submit TDAC in the official window, retain confirmation and carry onward travel and accommodation evidence.
Official fees and processing
The Dhaka mission has a consular-fee notice updated September 2025 and a separate eVisa-payment notice. Their image-only numerical/payment contents could not be verified. No current Bangladesh TR amount, total service cost, refund rule or eVisa processing deadline is therefore asserted. Do not present the older 2022 seven-working-day paper-application estimate or the central Thai-baht tariff as a current Dhaka guarantee. [TH05–TH07]
Validity stay and entry limits
The central TR guidance distinguishes single-entry visa validity of three months and multiple-entry validity of six months from a tourist stay of up to sixty days per entry. Read the issued visa and the actual immigration stamp; extensions require application and official discretion. The thirty-day exemption introduced in September 2026 is a different entry basis and is not a Bangladesh-passport tourism entitlement. [TH01–TH02, TH04]
Transit and multi-country travel
TDAC is not required for a connection that does not pass immigration; this does not by itself settle transit-visa eligibility. Have the carrier check the actual ticket, baggage, airport and terminals. A BKK–DMK airport change, bag collection through immigration or landside stop requires appropriate Thai entry permission and TDAC. Malaysia and Singapore approvals remain separate for ST012/ST013; a Thai visa does not cover those destinations. [TH03]
Documentation errors and refusal risks
General risks are using the wrong residence jurisdiction, mismatched bookings, an unsuitable purpose, unreadable uploads or treating TDAC confirmation as visa approval. Do not assume medical, business or employment is covered by an ordinary leisure TR plan. No refusal rate or fast-track approval promise is supported.
Practical preparation
Before committing to travel, obtain the current Dhaka TR upload checklist and fee/payment instructions from the official mission or eVisa portal. Submit TDAC within three days before arrival including arrival day, retain its email and use a new declaration for each entry. Complete passport, itinerary, accommodation and prompted health fields accurately. [TH03]
Verification limits
Limit: Used for national eligibility, not Qatar-resident application procedure.
Limit: Updated May 2024; paper photo counts and Thai-baht fees are not asserted as current Dhaka electronic instructions.
Limit: Numerical fee image could not be inspected; no Bangladesh fee quoted.
Limit: Image-only details inaccessible; bank/payment instructions not independently verified.
Limit: 2022/2023 paper-era instructions are not a current eVisa processing guarantee.
Limit: Dynamic portal did not expose a readable Bangladesh checklist during retrieval.
REQUIRES FURTHER CONFIRMATION: current Dhaka-specific TR eVisa checklist, bank-evidence standard, exact fee/payment method, processing time and route-specific transit rules. The original Bangladesh eVisa-introduction URL returned not found and the portal exposed no readable checklist. The September 2026 nationality lists and TDAC instructions were directly read.
Rules may change. Reconfirm with the official authority and airline before applying and departure. A visa does not guarantee boarding or border admission.
