Tourist visa checklist for Bangladeshi passport holders
Passport, photos, bank papers, NOC or trade licence, tickets, hotel and a clear covering letter: the documents most tourist visas ask for.

Every country sets its own visa rules, and they change more often than most people expect. Still, if you have applied for a few tourist visas from Bangladesh, you will notice the same documents coming up again and again. Getting these right is most of the work. Use this as a starting checklist, then confirm the exact list for the country you are visiting.
Your passport and photos
Start here, because a problem with your passport can stop everything else.
- Validity: many countries ask for a passport valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates. Some ask for more, so check before you apply.
- Blank pages: make sure you have enough empty visa pages. If your passport is nearly full, renew it first.
- Old passports: keep previous passports, especially if they hold earlier visas. Travel history can help your application.
- Photos: each country specifies the size, background colour and how recent the photo must be. A photo that does not meet the specification is one of the most common reasons for a file to be sent back. Get them taken by a studio that knows visa formats.
Showing you can pay for the trip
Embassies want to see that you can cover your travel without difficulty. This usually means:
- A bank statement for the last several months, signed and sealed by the bank, showing regular activity.
- A solvency certificate from the bank, stating your current balance.
- Your income tax documents, such as the TIN certificate and the latest return acknowledgement, if you have them.
Avoid large, unexplained deposits shortly before you apply. A sudden lump sum without a clear source raises more questions than it answers. If money has come in from a property sale, a gift from family or a business payment, include papers that explain it.
Proof of your job, business or studies
This shows why you will come home after the trip.
- Employees: a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your employer on letterhead, stating your position, how long you have worked there and your approved leave dates. Add your office ID card and, if asked, recent salary slips.
- Business owners: a copy of your trade licence, translated if needed, plus a business bank statement and a visiting card.
- Students: a letter from the school, college or university and your student ID.
- Family members not working: documents linking you to the sponsor, such as a marriage certificate or birth certificate, along with the sponsor's papers.
Tickets, hotel and a covering letter
Most embassies want to see a clear plan. A flight reservation and hotel booking for your dates usually do the job. In many cases a reservation is enough and a fully paid ticket is not required, but follow what the specific country asks for.
A covering letter ties everything together. Keep it to one page and say plainly:
- Who you are and what you do.
- Where you are going, for how long and why.
- Who is paying for the trip.
- Why you will return, such as your job, business, studies or family.
Make sure every date, name and figure matches across your form, letter, bookings and bank papers. Small mismatches are easy to spot and hard to explain.
Translations, honesty and timing
Documents in Bangla, such as a trade licence, birth certificate or marriage certificate, often need an English translation, usually notarised. Some countries also want certain papers attested. Leave time for this, as it can take longer than the rest of the preparation.
Be completely honest on every form. If you have been refused a visa before, say so where the form asks. Hiding a past refusal is far more damaging than the refusal itself. If it has happened to you, our guide on what to do after a visa refusal explains how to reapply with a stronger file.
Finally, apply early. Appointment slots and processing times vary by country and season, and they can stretch around holidays.
Each country's requirements are different and they change, so Softway Travels checks the current list for your destination when you apply. Our visa team can review your documents, point out gaps and help you put together a clear, complete file.
