What to pack for Umrah from Dhaka
A practical packing list for Umrah from Dhaka: documents, ihram, clothes, medicines and the small things pilgrims most often forget.

Packing for Umrah is different from packing for a holiday. You will walk a lot, pray five times a day in crowded places, and spend part of the trip in ihram. A light, well-planned bag makes all of that easier. Here is a practical list for pilgrims flying from Dhaka.
Documents first
- Passport, with plenty of validity left. Check the date well before you book.
- Printed and phone copies of your visa, flight tickets and hotel bookings.
- Vaccination records the current rules ask for. We confirm the latest requirements when you book.
- A few passport photos and a photocopy of your passport, kept apart from the original.
Ihram and clothing
For men
- Two sets of ihram cloth, so one can be washed and dried.
- A belt or pouch for the lower cloth, to carry money and your phone.
For women
- Loose, modest clothes in breathable fabric, and several scarves.
- A light abaya that is easy to wash and quick to dry.
Everyone needs comfortable sandals that are easy to slip off at the mosque, and a light layer for air-conditioned halls and cooler evenings in Madinah.
Health and comfort
- Your regular medicines in their original packs, with the prescription.
- Unscented soap, shampoo and lotion: scented products are avoided while in ihram.
- Plasters, pain relief, oral rehydration salts and a small pair of scissors (in checked luggage).
- A refillable water bottle and an umbrella or cap for the sun.
Small things people forget
- A universal travel adaptor and a power bank.
- A small backpack or sling bag for the mosque, and a cloth bag for your sandals.
- A pocket copy of your duas and the hotel address written in Arabic.
Pack half of what you think you need. Everything you carry, you carry on foot.
