Sylhet and Sreemangal: train, road or flight from Dhaka?
How to get from Dhaka to Sylhet and Sreemangal, which town to visit first, how many days to allow and how to beat the weekend and holiday rush.
A three-day route linking Sylhet’s river landscapes with Sreemangal’s tea country and Lawachara forest. Pair Sylhet’s river scenery with a Sreemangal forest and tea-country stay using one night in each base. The Jaflong day also changes towns, so this three-day version requires restrained sightseeing and a realistic road buffer. An extra night is a separate extension for a slower pace. Madhabpur Lake is in Kamalganj and has its own travel and access requirement.
Starting fromBDT 8,900Per person

Per person, for the whole trip. The more of you travel together, the less each pays.
A simple route plan for this package, with the starting point, transfers, stay and key experiences kept together for each day.
Day 1
Arrive in Sylhet on the confirmed transport and check in. Take a meal and rest break before sightseeing. Enjoy Ratargul’s swamp-forest setting or a shrine visit after the rest break.
Day 2
Visit Jaflong’s riverside landscape before the drive toward Sreemangal. Continue toward Sreemangal after lunch with a realistic road buffer. Check in to your Sreemangal accommodation. Enjoy a local tea stop and a relaxed first taste of tea-country life.
Day 3
Take an authorised Lawachara forest walk suited to your fitness. Visit Madhabpur Lake, where water and tea-covered slopes form a quiet landscape. Return to the departure station with enough time for the confirmed service.
Optional choices: An extra Sreemangal night or separately timed Madhabpur visit; Hum Hum trekking is a separate excursion.
Monsoon greens the hills and wetlands; cooler months bring comfortable tea-country and forest walks.
Grip shoes, light long clothing, rain cover, sun protection, personal medicines, drinking water, ID and a small dry bag. Keep luggage light for station and local transfers.
Bangladeshi taka BDT. Keep a separate budget for personal spending and paid extras.
Wetland boats and riverside visits follow water level, weather and local access rules. Tea estates and forest trails require visitor permission; shrine and community visits require respectful dress and consent. Forest paths, boat boarding and uneven ground require suitable walking ability.
