Debotakhum: rafting through Bandarban's hidden gorge
How to reach Debotakhum from Roangchhari, what the bamboo raft ride feels like, the best season, and why a guide and life jacket are a must.
A three-day Debotakhum trip with two Bandarban nights and a separate, gorge day. Give the gorge its own activity day after a rest night in Bandarban. The three destination days give the gorge its own activity day between two Bandarban hotel nights. Debotakhum’s Rowangchhari setting brings tall rock walls, shaded water and green hills into the day’s walk-and-raft experience.
Starting fromBDT 7,400Per person

Per person, for the whole trip. The more of you travel together, the less each pays.
A simple route plan for this package, with the starting point, transfers, stay and key experiences kept together for each day.
Day 1
Reach Bandarban on confirmed transport and check in to the actual accommodation. Rest while the local team prepares the route arrangements for the gorge day.
Day 2
Travel along the Rowangchhari approach with your local guide. Follow the guide at the group’s pace along the stream approaches toward the gorge. Board the raft to experience the rock walls and shaded water from the stream. Return with a safe daylight margin for a second Bandarban night.
Day 3
Rest and pack for the journey home. Return to Dhaka after the departure transfer.
Optional choices: A town-focused variation with shorter walks or an additional rest night, each at extra cost.
Drier periods give the gorge a calmer setting of rock walls, shaded water and green hills.
Grip shoes, light long clothing, rain cover, sun protection, personal medicines, drinking water, ID and a small dry bag. Keep luggage light for station and local transfers.
Bangladeshi taka BDT. Keep a separate budget for personal spending and paid extras.
Debotakhum is in Rowangchhari, Bandarban.
The Rowangchhari route requires current authority clearance and a competent local guide. Heavy rain, unsafe flow, flash-flood risk, landslide conditions or closure stop the gorge activity. Slippery uneven walking and raft boarding require suitable fitness, life jackets and an emergency plan; water colour changes naturally.
